My Favorite Writer’s Conference – It’s Coming Up!

March 7, 2012 in: Writing

If you are a writer, or have have entertained that idea, and live anywhere in the Midwest, you have an amazing opportunity.

The Called To Write Conference will be April 13-14 in Pittsburg, Kan. At just $80, it is one of the most affordable conferences you’ll find. It also has an uplifting, Christ-centered Spirit that will encourage you and help you to discover just what the Lord has called you to write.

This year’s speakers are an impressive lineup. My dear friend Julane Hiebert will be leading two workshops: Color Me a Writer and You Can Teach An Old Dog New Tricks, which is about critiquing another’s work.

Stephanie Grace Whitson

Terry Whalin

Best-selling author Stephanie Grace Whitson will lead workshops on fiction writing. Terry Whalin, a former editor and agent and now a publisher, will provide insights into Christian publishing.

A special blessing will be Trieste Van Wyngarden, a writer and editor with DaySpring Cards. Her workshops last year really touched the artist’s soul in each of us. LeeAnn Campbell will share about writing for one of the most important audiences – children.

I’ve met some of my best writing friends at the Called To Write Conference and I’m looking forward to seeing them again. This is an ideal beginning place for new writers. Please come and join us.
