Reflections

September 23, 2010

I realize you do not need to read my views about Northwest Missouri infrastructure, farm fresh vegetables or the truth of God’s word, so I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. May you find it enjoyable, if not informative and uplifting.

This scene on the river reminds me of Jesus’ invitation to everyone who is thirsty to come and drink, then rivers of life will flow out of your heart. I hope these reflections and devotionals bring refreshing streams to your spirit.

Or as I like to say, “a country girl trying to talk some sense into a crazy world.”

I grew up on a farm near Maryville, Mo., then graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in agriculture and a journalism minor. I worked at a few small newspapers in the region. For ten years, I was the agriculture reporter, then business editor at the St. Joseph News-Press. Now I work in emergency planning with an emphasis on agriculture and mitigating for natural disasters.

I’ve written one novel, a murder mystery, and had a story published in

Chicken Soup for the Soul – What I Learned From the Dog

I also teach toddlers in Sunday school, sing along with the radio while driving and eat ice cream year round.
